Ellicott Mills Middle School, constructed on the campus of the previously established Quantum County Middle School, serves as a modern day replacement of a rapidly aging and degrading facility. Construction completed in early 1996 at a cost of 30 million dollars. Originally designed to accommodate 1200 students, grades 6-8, Ellicott Mills Middle School contains a full fine arts suite, large competition gym, cafeteria and separate auditorium, as well as two science labs. The campus underwent renovation in 2010, adding on several new STEM labs for modern learning, a new practice gym, as well as security enhancements and canopies for the bus and car loops.
